India-made GPUs to be tech demo-ready in 2025, production by 2029.

The Indian government is developing indigenous graphics processing units (GPUs) under the IndiaAI Mission, with a budget of Rs 10,372 crore. The mission aims to design and produce domestically manufactured GPUs by 2025 and achieve commercial production by 2029. India plans to become a major semiconductor hub with over 70 startups and 270 institutions engaged in semiconductor R&D.
